I’m Matt Miller and I am running for Gwinnett County State Court Judge Division 5. I need your vote in the nonpartisan runoff on June 21, 2022.
I reside in Lawrenceville with my wife Tara and our three young children. My wife is a Gwinnett County Public School teacher at McClure Health Science High School and our children attend public school in the Collins Hill Cluster.
On May 24, 2022, I received the highest number of votes in Gwinnett County to replace the retiring Judge Pam South. However, despite receiving over 42% of the vote, I did not avoid a runoff. Therefore, I need your vote again Tuesday June 21, 2022! I have been endorsed by candidates all over the political spectrum, including Representative Gregg Kennard (Democrat Lawrenceville) and Representative Chuck Efstration (Republican Dacula) to name a few. Why vote for me?
For almost two decades, I have practiced law in the Gwinnett Judicial Circuit. I am the only candidate who has practiced in all areas of the law a State Court Judge needs to be knowledgeable with, making me the most qualified candidate for the job. I have tried all types of cases, including criminal defense, personal injury, civil defense, contract disputes, juvenile, family, land-lord tenant and probate cases in Gwinnett. I am the only candidate who has successfully tried to jury verdicts cases in all areas of the law a State Court Judge must be knowledgeable with. I have tried tons of jury trials, including Civil and Criminal cases. I have the integrity and qualifications needed to be an efficient and effective State Court Judge.
I am now employed as a Supervising Attorney in the Gwinnett Solicitor’s Office. I prosecute all types of misdemeanor cases, from Driving Under the Influence to Vehicular Homicide cases, in the State Court. I know what it takes to be a fair and impartial judge who will ensure justice is served for all who appear in the courtroom! I am the most qualified candidate for the job and I would love the opportunity to serve you as your next elected State Court Judge!

Matt Miller grew up in Gainesville Georgia. He attended Georgia State University and the University of Tennessee for Law School. He has been practicing law since passing the bar in 2006.
Matt is the only candidate who has experience in all areas of the law a State Court Judge should. While in private practice, he tried cases a Criminal Defense Law, a Plaintiff’s Lawyer, and Civil Defense Law. Since working in the Solicitor’s Office, he has prosecuted cases ranging from DUI to Vehicular Homicide. He is the only candidate to successfully conduct jury trials to verdicts in all areas of the law a State Court Judge must be knowledgeable with.
Matt has served on several boards of non-profits including two Veterans charities. He has also served on his kids PTA as an officer and chaired the Gwinnett County Law Enforcement Appreciation Day Picnic.
Matt has focused on improving Gwinnett County and continuing to keep Gwinnett safe for all of it’s residents. He understands that only with a strong competent judiciary can the community thrive.
